Pioneer DV-S733A SACD / DVD-A player - (Sold) Empty Pioneer DV-S733A SACD / DVD-A player - (Sold)

Post by etteoh Fri Sep 16, 2011 12:19 pm

Up for sale is my treasured Pioneer DV-S733A player. Barring Blu-Ray and HD-DVDs, it plays virtually everything else – CD, DVD, SACD, DVD-A, you name it. Read an AudioFile review of it here: http://sites.thestar.com.my/audio/story.asp?file=/2002/4/4/audiofile/04pioneer

The player functions perfectly. Reads and plays perfectly. This was a display unit I bought off a dealer for the sole reason of playing SACD and DVD-A discs. Unfortunately I couldn’t afford expanding my collection as we all know just how darn expensive those formats are.

The gold plated jacks on the rear are all still perfect – no oxidization / fading of any sort. Expected quality as with any well Made-In-Japan product. The player is very well kept and those who have bought things from me in the past know I’m very particular when it comes to my gears.

The only mod that was done on it was the conversion of the rear power jack from the two-pin figure-8 socket to IEC so you can use your own power cord with it.

I would have liked to keep it as a spare transport to my aging VRDS but I just don’t have the space on my listening station to fit another player in. In addition, the Pioneer weighs in at just a shade under 5kgs so yeah, it’s a well put together machine.

Lead-filled wood spikes - https://i.servimg.com/u/f44/14/24/19/07/cones10.jpg

An optional accessory that I am putting up to go with the player is a set of 3 custom made lead-filled wooden spikes. The spikes are wood on the outside and are lead-filled in the inside. Works wonders with the player to be honest. These cost me RM120. I’ll let them go for RM50 as a bundle with the player.
