AC Power Supply Optimization Service

HiFi system runs on AC power. It is imperative we optimize AC power supply as perfectly as possible to realize it’s full potential.

An electrical engineer by profession but HiFi is my passion. With proven experience in optimizing AC power for HiFi systems, I wish to share my knowledge for DIY enthusiasts and also offer my power supply optimization services, for a small fee, for those who requires it. My solution is suitable for mid to high-end HiFi system. I work on single phase AC supply only.

My implementation minimizes the number of contact point, fuse and ELCB while enhances contact integrity, reduces cable resistance and lowering noise, resulting in an optimized foundation for building your system.

Once optimized, you can then connect it to power distributor / power regenerator / noise filter ... etc follow by rest of the HiFi components. My design follow closely the activities stated in the PSAudio article (https://www.psaudio.com/ps_how/how-to-install-a-dedicated-ac-line/) which was installed in Stereophile Listening Room in 1991. The transformation in performance I experienced was very similar to what the PSAudio article described. Without it, I did not enjoy listening to my system at all.

I operate from a café name MyEspresso (address : 63 Jalan USJ 21/11, Subang Jaya) every Saturday from 1pm till 7pm. Feel free to come for a sharing session. I will go through the PSAudio article and explain the technical compromises found in many components that cause harsh and uninvolving sound. I like to meet you, talk HiFi, share and learn. Meeting at your home is also possible for a fee of $50 where I can review your AC power supply and grounding, and recommend solution if needed. Full explanation will be given for each recommendation. Will also bring along some HiFi accessories and cables for trying (not for sales).

1) AC wire Hook up per Configuration A

Cost : RM 600 (exclude power plugs). Variation can be discussed, depending on your system's requirements.

2) Dedicated power line from circuit breaker box

Cost : Estimate RM 500 to RM 1200 --- (length and configuration dependent)
           Note :
           * exclude paint / painting cost.
           * additional $ 180 for circuit breaker box with 20 amp breaker if order together.

3) Dedicated grounding For HiFi system

4) AC selector switch bypass

Cost : RM 180

5) Change 3 pin socket to receptacle outlet

Cost : RM 280

6) Fuse bypass

Cost : RM 25 per piece

7) Modify Keces DC116 power supply

Cost :
RM 600 for Level 1 (big improvement)

Star grounding for 6 components
Replace Reference cap, output caps with 8 Rubicon ZL capacitors
Bypass AC voltage selector
Bypass on/off switch (if owner agree)
Hard-wire all connectors (if owner agree)
Fine tuning results at your home (1 time)

RM 1000 for Level 2 (ultimate)

All Level 1 upgrade plus add 1000uF, 16V Oscon capacitor at output.
Star ground more components.
Use 4 more Rubicon ZL caps.
DC voltage selector switch bypass (if owner agree)
Fine tuning results at your home (2 times)

I did Level 2 for my system. Complete transformation from so so to exceptional sound quality.
