This DAC has solid as rock construction and produces superior sound that many latest high end CD players still have hard time matching and will only to be displaced by more expensive meridians. I used to pair it with a high end Pioneer DVD player as a transport through an Optical cable.

Used in mostly air conditioned environment with minimum dust and oxidation to the metal parts inside out. You have got to see the actual unit to appreciate how clean it is. Perfect functionally and sonically. There are Balanced output (XLR) in addition to the usual RCA connectors.
You may want to use a Balanced Passive Preamp like TC Electronic Level Pilot for a pure sonic delivery. I have one brand new unused for RM350.
