Re: Avia PowerTrans AC Conditioner
This is a power regulator. I have not used it before but according to friends you must on it all the time as it consumes only 5v in standby mode. Otherwise the sound quality will become worse!

Re: Avia PowerTrans AC Conditioner
Yes, it is a power regulator or conditioner. I am looking for the 2kva model with a meter & 2 dials to select the input voltage & normal or -5V. Now they are with balanced transformer according to the shop. Just need it to give constant output of 220-230v as my home AC current is at 246-248v.

Re: Avia PowerTrans AC Conditioner
Guys.. was having tea with some hifi kaki recently heard some very interesting finding about "Avia regulator".. if we plug from the wall supply thru Avia regulated down to 210 to 220v at UK socket outlet we suppose to have;
"Live" test-pen test bulb LIGHT-UP(Norm)
"Neutral" test-pen test buld NO RESPONDE(Norm)
??? Here come the Big questions mark ???
But when we connect it further thru a power distributor result show as below;
"Live" test-pen test buld LIGHT-UP(Norm)
"Neutral" test-pen test bulb LIGHT-UP AS WELL WITH VERY LOW BRIGHT????
Can anyone please help explain this fenomena? As we all know the rule of thumb "Live" suppose to light up but not the other way round.

Re: Avia PowerTrans AC Conditioner
Hi Hijau,
That means it got balanced output 110V pull and 110V push. No problem.

Re: Avia PowerTrans AC Conditioner
Hi Classe,
Just got my 2KVA Avia,
1. Tested the polarity direct from the unit:
Live - Lights up the test pen
Neutral - No signal
2. Attached a power cord to power distributor from Avia:
Live - Lights up the test pen
Neutral - Also lights up the test pen but less bright.
3. Polarity checker of the power distributor it self;
Connect direct from wall, polarity lights up (Normal) when test button press.
If check by connecting to the Avia, no signal.
I am also wondering this is normal? If it's a push pull output, why only it happened when a power distributor is connected to the Avia, not from the Avia itself?
Please help.
Thank you.

Re: Avia PowerTrans AC Conditioner
Hi all,
Tested the 2KVA avia last night when free. With this new "Balanced transformer" for this unit, now both of the live & neutral are lighting up the test pen with same brightness. Plug all of the equipment in but all are working perfectly.
This time around, from the Avia output itself, both live & neutral are with signal without connecting further to power distributor.

Re: Avia PowerTrans AC Conditioner
Come on, pls use a multimeter to test it not using the test pen. Measure from ground to neutral and live. Connect a load your amp or cd player. Tell us the result. Pls use true rms multimeter if possible.
Maybe we can crack our heads here.

Re: Avia PowerTrans AC Conditioner
frd . i use it too same avia but is two bundle tranformer that mean two like mono block . one is power disdibutor and another is power storage . this case same too me all live and neutral is light too. But my frd told me is no problem this is parerel degisn is good and very sweet macth my tube mono block . actualy the neutral part light so dark compare live. this is no problem . For me and my frd the sound more clean compare normal pahse.
actualy i check at audio image still both light come up. and my output 235
input 240. so cool .
With avia want sound good used solid core cable that mean more thick . the regulator stabilizer and condition more efisien.
