Re: Sansui AU-20000 integrated amp
hai azri,
Thanks for your information, its more than i expected...
I not really sure how good the amp.is..but may be i can hook it up with my system..
Is it worthy if the price below 1k, including his Sansui SG 1080 turntable?
And based on your experience, what is the price for this amp.?
Thanks man.

Re: Sansui AU-20000 integrated amp
im in australia. theres lots of sansui fans here & au20000 is like a dream come true to them
some would advice "keep it you b**stard!!", for sansui hrdcores this is 1 of a gem (sadly im not)
but becareful you will need to service the amp with specialist, cos they do get worn out after sometime
grab it!! rm1k seems too cheap, plus the turntable!! if u dont like it, give a pm somewhere next year
i'll be glad to consider buying, coz me too interested to hear the sound hehe

Re: Sansui AU-20000 integrated amp
Hi Jermaine,
Even sansui has the value but it won't be more that Rm1000. If i'm not mistaken AU-20000 should be around RM700-RM800. Those other models should be around RM500 - RM600 to all higher watts. see hows the condition. But 1 thing Make sure you check the amplifier that no modification of the inner parts. Must be all original.

Re: Sansui AU-20000 integrated amp
Oklah, if he wish not to sell, no need to rob himlah...anyway you pass him my contact no if he change his mind.
Actually with power rating of 165wrms @ 8 ohms, with real last time rating not pmpo, one must be careful when handling old equipment. The components or switch contact that is old might produce pops and crackle will instantly damage your speaker. Nowadays speaker is sensitve and low power. Last time speaker woofer size of 12" or 15" is norm, easily can absorb that pop or crackle. Worst if power transistor fail and pass the full dc voltage to your speaker. If protection circuit works ok, if fail there goes your speaker...
Advise is to refurbished throughly any high power vintage amp or play safe buy a low power one less than 100Wrms will do. One should look for charatcter of sound not the dynamic of sound unless you live in big bungalows like US houses. It is common in US to have large power amplifier and large gigantic speaker to cover their wide listening area.
We Malaysian more like England tight living quarters....

Re: Sansui AU-20000 integrated amp
Hi Sean Lee,
How much are you willing to pay for Au 417 ? I have a friend who is having one, may be I can ask him if he wants to let it go. The is a guy from Sarawak offering Au 517 for rm 1780 over mudah.com which I think is overprized. He quoted as the prize is based on ebay and the bluebook (audiogoon) and that is how people take the advantage over the item which is on high demand. Currently I am using Au 919, AuD11 Mk 2 and Au D9 and HH Scott 222c. Those amps are great.
How much are you willing to pay for Au 417 ? I have a friend who is having one, may be I can ask him if he wants to let it go. Re: Sansui AU-20000 integrated amp
Hi Chew,
I am the fellow from Sarawak. I own both AU-417 and AU-517.
I also got my AU-9500 from Singapore sometime last year. All those Sansui
or even other model are hard to get nowadays. Even in Singapore, you are
lucky if you can find a seller.
I got my AU-9500 by sheer " Twist of luck ". This model is actually
2nd or 3rd RARE ranking in Sansui ' World ". The seller mistakenly advertised
it as " SR-9500 (There is no such model). Because I was searching for the
AU-9500, definately I was curious so I gave him a call, and yes.....it is the
AU-9500 !!! I flew to Singapore the following week after I sealed the deal
with him. I bought it for SGD 700 (Not counting my Airfare and Custom Tax)
As for both the AU-417, and AU-517, I am not selling as I am
collecting " Selected Model " of Vintage Solid State Sansui Amplifier.
These are the power in RMS for those models : -
1) AU-417 65 Watts per channel into 8 Ohms.
2) AU-517 75 Watts per channel into 8 Ohms.
3) AU-9500 85 Watts per channel into 8 Ohms. (Different Class- Valve
Amp-like Sound- you can say its the " Pretender" to the Valve Amp !!!
That is why it is very Rare now......The other model which also eludedme is
the AU-717 which I am still hunting for.........
I have many contacts in Singapore, but they also cannot find one
because most owners prefer to keep it. Anyway, also try to google surf,
echoloft (buy/sell) Hi Fi to try your luck.
I want to PM you but you dont have any PM address.
You and arabungkus can PM or email me to share out the " Sansui world "
and actually there are many of us here in this Forum........thanks

Re: Sansui AU-20000 integrated amp
Oh....the fellow who advertised the AU-517 for RM 1750 in mudah.com.my
in July last year was not me....he is the former owner of that AU-517 which
I subsequently bought from him for RM 1300.
I am a small time Vintage Sansui Amp collector (for Hobby) so definately
I would not sell it. I hope this will clear the situation. Talking about buying a
21 Kgs of Amplifier from US is out of question as the Airfreight (whether through
DHL or other Courier) will be very expensive. From USA to Kuching, Sarawak
cost RM 68 per Kilo !!! From USA to JHB or KUL will be a bit less maybe say
RM 53 per Kilo and you Multiply that by 21 Kgs (Wts. of the Amp) you see how
much you have to pay and that havent taken into account the Custom Duty.......So the best way is to search here in the Asian Region.......
