Dussun & Ming Da amps
these are the only high end china made that i will be able to audition, since the outlet is nearby. before i do that, i seek advice from you guys regarding on performance, reviews, previous listening experience etc. coz i never did had any chance to audition amplifier soundstage quality, mostly based on main taram beli or by looking on specs than hit "buy it now". i dont really buy expensive hi fidelity but if its on 'bila lagi' basis im willing to spend a couple of oz grand since them both priced around $1.7k to $2k
dussun v6i is the smaller version of its popular v8i version
dussun v8i was rebatched by mark levinson & was among red rose line ups

on the other hand, Ming Da is one of a kind tube amp, but im dont have vast experience on tube amp listening quality. ming da is a bit expensive but giving some time im sure the price will go down sooner or later, especially considering the bad economy situation LOL. below are the specs :

Re: Dussun & Ming Da amps
Hi, I have read the review of Dussun V8i some months back. If my memory serves me right, it has a rave review from an Australian Reviewer (forgoten his name though). I was also eager to audition the V8i but cant find a dealer in Malaysia that imports the amp.Guess I have to wait till your audition and post your feedback in this forum.Regards.

Re: Dussun & Ming Da amps
I owned the Korsun V8i which is the same as Red Rose Affirmation which sells for USD7000.00
Only difference is the brand name and change of power supply to 110v for the US market.
The Korsun/Dussun V8i is a fantastic intergrated amplifier regardless of price but at the current asking price, it is a steal. Parts list and build quality is very good.
A simple no fuss intergrated which will drive almost any speaker with an iron fist without sounding harsh. One wonder if all the other amplifier is way overpriced.
If you remove the stigma of it being a Made In China Amplifier, you will find that you have made a wise choice and not help make some arrogrant amplifier manufacturer's wallet thicker.
Go audition, it will blow you to pieces while slowing caressing you with emotion.
PM me it you require additional info.

Re: Dussun & Ming Da amps
This is a ball breaker intergrated amplifier. drives almost any speaker in the market. Full range, plannars, and even very low efficiency speakers. If you own a wimpy bookself speaker, look elsewhere unless it requires high current. It is rated at 90A output and class A 250W dual mono construction at 8 ohms.
Hifi Discovery had it matched perfectly even with Totem One bookshelf speakers.
If you tell me more about yr setup, I can roughly tell you if it is suitable for you. Soundwise, you will never get this quality at near this price point.

Re: Dussun & Ming Da amps
Well, my mega bucks krell amplifier consistenly give me problem. When I sold it, i only can get back half the price I paid two years ago. So my damage is around 15K.
Even if you lose 100% on a china amp, it will probably cost you max 4K? after maybe 5 years?
Branded China Amp is now quite high quality. Btw , most of the mega bucks american cable is oem in China.
krell and lots of high end brands also made in China now.
Your statement is quite unfair to those who is trying to make quality products for a living.

Re: Dussun & Ming Da amps
vs, if u can opt for dussun v8 instead of 5 figures krell, haha what else can be said..
but i wonder of dussun v6, is it as good as its big v8 brother?
im aiming for tektron 6" fullrange from US but, theres a pair of lenehan's ML2 also (2nd hand)
i read tremendous reviews on lenehans ML1 & some even gave up their SF auditor for this

Re: Dussun & Ming Da amps
v8i is the ultimate.
It does not cost much, why go for second best.
I use it to drive my Big Maggies. Alot of juice for not much money.

well, sorry,I think China still have a long way as far as making quality hifi products goes..
a lot of MIC stuff are just copycats of their western counterparts products. This is a fact....I would prefer buying Malaysian made ,or Korean made products instead..

Re: Dussun & Ming Da amps
Why reinvent the wheel? If they can get some good ideas then improve on it. Everybody does that.
Wld you say Mark Levinson copy Korsun/Dussun or the other way around?
Malaysian manufacturers are mostly copycats (not refering to hifi only). That is how an industry begins to grow.
I am not defending anyone and i do not have interest in any products but China can made the best products if you are willing to pay premium for it. People always wlling to pay at a certain price point, just like the saying goes 'you pay peanuts, you will get monkeys'.
A lot of famed reviewer have already marveled at Chinese made equipment and we here still condemn it. Pity.

Re: Dussun & Ming Da amps
aiyah, whether its MIC or not the price is still high
often saw MIC tube amps selling 50% to 60% off original price
especially during this time, recession period
just imagine how much profit they are making before the discount?
the thing is, the workers is not receiving the benefit!!
only the factories owner is making huge profit by selling overseas
whereas in reality the overhead cost are fairly low back in china
poor the workers, there is definitely a scam behind this MIC hifi eq making
big names like KEF, QUAD certainly are taking advantage of these situation
so if u want to argue on MIC, dont argue on quality coz its a waste of time
but think of those workers who works like the rest but receive a very vey minimum wage

let me tell you, a lot of major names had thier products MIC. Your super duper high price cable probably made in China. Many amps rebadge and sold in Europe.
