Cyrus DACMaster (Sold) Empty Cyrus DACMaster (Sold)

Post by etteoh Sun Oct 09, 2011 1:04 pm

Joining in the list of inventory I’m putting up for sale is my much beloved Cyrus DACMaster DAC. Still a much sought after DAC today, the DACMaster is renown for its superiority in resolving 2-ch audio…In 2-ch audio, the DACMaster holds its own very well even when stacked up against some of today’s hypothetically superior 24/192khz DACs. Google up the DACMaster for more reviews and specifications.

There is however one teeny-weeny problem with the DAC – the coax input isn’t working but this isn’t really a deal breaker. The balanced XLR input is working and so is the optical / toslink. I have my transport wired to the XLR input using a XLR-RCA converter and it works every bit as good if not better.

Aside from that, everything else on the DAC is flawless. Even the balanced XLR outputs (yes the DACMaster has them) works perfectly fine.

I have two different types of XLR-RCA converter to go with the DACMaster. One is a standard converter, which I will include with the DAC at no extra charge. The other one I have is a genuine Cardas MXLR-FRCA converter which is non-magnetic and sports Rhodium over silver plating. This is obviously (and significantly) better but I’ll let you make the choice. If you opt for the Cardas, it will be an extra RM130. Granted, it isn’t cheap but it’s the best converter you can possibly buy…and it’s a genuine Cardas.

I hear you ask the golden question - how much is the DAC? Due to the shortcoming of the coax, I am pricing it at a lowly (sold), which comes with the standard XLR-RCA converter. The Cardas converter adds RM130.
