Using Paypal
Anyone here successfully use Paypal to send money to buy fihi stuff from net? I setup a paypal account few year ago to purchase some IC from Audiogon but Paypal reject the payment, last week i tried to use paypal to buy a speaker cable, and again, paypal reject the payment. I check with paypal, and they replied that it internal security measure to reduce the risk. Just wonder anyone out there using paypal to send money and what is the limit you able to send.

Re: Using Paypal
I guess you didn't set up your Paypal account properly. You need to register your credit card with Paypal first and it is a step by step procedure after that so just follow the instructions accordingly. The sending limit is similar to the withdrawal limit of your credit card. However, your status in Paypal has to be verified first in order to send large amount of funds. If not your limit will be stuck at US$100 per transaction if my memory serves me right. The only disadvantage(for Malaysians) is one cannot receive funds via Paypal.

To reduce the risks, Paypal would charged you $3 when you register. You would then have to verify this when your credit card bill arrive or you can check online about 3 days later that there was this transaction being carried out. This is to safeguard against another person using your credit card.
If you have not gone beyond this verification stage your account would not be activated.

Re: Using Paypal
my account was verified, i went thru the process 1.99 credit card charge and then enter the verification number but still not able to send money.
I send the paypal error message, and they replied telling me it not my account limit problem, it paypal security measure to control risk. So i'm not sure if this only happen to Malaysian.

Re: Using Paypal
I have been a use for many years, and has not experienced any problem so far.
That being said ,I prefer to use wire transfer service especially when buying very expensive stuff from abroud..
I suspect you must have just opened an account recently. As you are aware,a lot of fake credict cards come out of Malaysia, and i suspect your purchase must be more than 100 usd in vaLue,hence the decline .

Re: Using Paypal
Ridz,
I have been using Paypal for quite a while too but I have always wondered about:
1. transferring Paypal funds out into my CIMB gold VISA
2. from credit card to cash
How is it done?
I was told that a debit card is easier if you want cash.
THANKS!

Re: Using Paypal
Raz,
Transfer only can be done with Visa and I'm with CiTibank. There's a maximum of USD500 on each transfer to your visa and there will be a charge of USD5 per transaction. I hope this still apply today as I've done the cash transfer only once in last 2 years.
Debit I've no idea about it...cheers!
