yup, agree.
used that 15 years ago on a Whafy Diamond III. Fantastic improvement.
Really pain in the ass cable to work with coz its so darn stiff.
Does vdH still make the SCS12 ?
The softer & more flexible CS12 makes a great AC cord replacement for those chicken noodle powercord used in budget amps and CD players.

Re: Internal cables for Speakers
Yes they still make the SCS12 but it's now 11AWG instead of 12AWG, contrary to what the name implies. I use them for bi-wiring post jumpers and i've also used them as speaker cables for my valve setup with good results.

Re: Internal cables for Speakers
Inside our speakers, the manufacturers use what kind of cables?
More expensive speakers will use even better cables inside or same across the board?
Just curious to know about this.
Have not opened up any speakers so far.

I only know that Harbeth Limited Edition used a fairly cheap OFC van Damme Blue Series at an additional cost of SGD200.00 This is only at the request of the local distributor.
Other than that, I believe Harbeth uses the same type of cable from the P3 to their top of range M40.1.
I do believe that even for this short run of cable, it does make a difference.

Re: Internal cables for Speakers
basicallly i have done this numerous times...first was with my 753 freedom (1997), then my proac tablette 50, tabb 50 signature, response 2.5....
i used various cables, from naim nac a5, nordost flatline, afa zeus, transparent hp- 14/2 etc..most were on a trial n error basis.......the 753's were &*^%^ to deal with since they have 4 drivers n a tweeter...n the cabinet is split into two with a sort of pin sized rod connecting the two cabinets
the improvements were huge.....but choose your cable carefully, find one that suits your listening taste......after all it'll be you who's gonna be "stuck" with the system...
some claim that upgrading the capacitors brings bigger improvements..but i havent done that yet.....anyway happy experimenting

In the event these items are put up for sale I hope there would be a disclaimer that the items are modified. Some people would prefer the original.

Re: Internal cables for Speakers
Hey there's this chinese car company that is planning to make a copycat Porsche Cayenne! No kidding!!
sadly yes, VDH is a popular choice for fakers to fake. there are many fake vdh cables going around. be careful and try to buy from the authorised distributors.

i got no idea, didn't see any brand printed on it. i think is just a normal grade mass produce speaker cable. anyway, from your experience, by changing better internal cable would it be definately bring up the performance or improve the sound quality of the speaker ?

SO go ahead, why not . If you dont like it , can always undo and put back the original wire right ?
