no true,i have auditioned it driven with 30W monoblock tube..it really shine..But you dont expect it to produce kind a Solid "Bass" as Linn Sara [hungry birds]

on vocal..almost as good as voices from heaven!

if i am not mistaken, i listen to this one every now and then when i was in the states at my friend's room..

my friend bought this & i ended buying a maggies 2.7 .. he finally got classe ca150 to drive them ..

it was a class performer

it was sold in a crutchfield ..i think ..

having said that..you cannot compared tube monoblock power compared to solid state eventhogh they are same watts

generally..all ribbon speakers are hard to drive back then..

perhaps now .. technology have change..

Agreed, Tube Watt is unlike Solid-state Watt - Watt by comparison.

I thought of giving it a try as the dealer told me that it could be well driven by a Nap180. Now i better Hold back after realising it need 150horses to drive the beast !
