Saw a Denon TT which accepts usb input at Amcorp Mall, shop name is Acoustic Solution.
Just plug in the usb stick while playing ur LPs and it shall record it.

Hi,
I was looking at that too and surveyed the following ADC which are available in Malaysia.
1) EDIROL UA-25X from Roland
2) EMU 0404
3) PRESONUS Firebox
They are all converting at 24bit 96kHz with (1) & (2) using USB and (3) using firewire cable to your computer. They are about RM1k range and got quite good reviews and are used by home studio or high quality home recording of musicians/band.
Later, I just downloaded the free AUDACITY program and installed in on my notebook to do some trial recording of my LPs. I just want to know how it works and sounds and all one need is a decent notebook or PC, an input cable - typically a stereo RCA plugs to mini jacks to connect to notebook line in. I ran AUDACITY, set to max 24bit 96kHZ sampling, adjust the input levels and played a record. Bingo ! Recorded sound was quite good. AUDACITY software comes with some basic editing tools like noise removal, pops removal, normalizing and even saving the files in WAV or FLAC.
In my opinion, if ones objective of digitizing the LPs is to archive them or enjoy the convenience of playing as CDs or music servers (eg. ipods), and these LPs are not mint (or noiseless), using the free AUDACITY is quite adequate. Otherwise check out one of the above 3 ADCs or higher end ones with 24bit 192kHz sampling from Yamaha or TASCAM but they are much more expensive. Another way is to get a (obsoleted) minidisc recorder which has inbuilt ADC and the digital recording is on minidiscs. Cheers and best regards.

Re: LP to Digital conversion
CLH,
Thanks for the input.
I have also noted that the Sony PCMD50 is quite a good ADC and its portable too. But not available here.
I also like what I read about the Korg MR-1 which is also portable and best of all has the supposed un-obsolete DSD.
Reason why I want to archive is because I have in excess of 200 LPs which are very hard to get from the late 50s and 60s. Overkill perhaps but what the heck.

u want a cheap cheap good good solution?
Go buy a Behringer Ultramatch SRC2496 A/D & D/A converter (can do both and its a complete single unit).
Professional studio-use equipment.
Street price is just under RM3K only.
it can do A/D into 16, 18, 20 or 24 bits, and any sampling rates up to 96KHz.
Google it up for more info or visit the Behringer website.

Re: LP to Digital conversion
My few friends that use Behringer products complain like hell about the quality.
I am now looking at the Edirol R-09HR as it is actually available locally while the Sony PCMD50 is not. Also the Korg MR-1 is apparently discontinued.

Re: LP to Digital conversion
If you are a Mac user, there is this program "CD Spin Doctor" that cones with the file copy program "Toast".
Connect your RCA out from your pre-Amp to the line input and start recording. Simple and nice but time consuming no doubt.
