Re: 75 ohm cable
yes it can. no it won't hurt the performance.
in fact it might be better thana lot some commercial interconnects available on the market.
a reputable custom-made cable seller on the net (can't remember if it's bluejeans cables or the other one that i can't remember the name correctly) had done a comparison on the various type of cables that they could get their hands on and they found that a shielded coax cable from canare (IIRC) had the best performance to be used as an interconnect.
it might not have all the voodoo that audiophile cable manufacturer put into making their product but coaxes are designed, engineered and built to have absolute minimal signal loss and the best possible shielding for long distance transmission.
and they won't cost thousands for a few meters. i'm personally using them as my sub interconnect.

Re: 75 ohm cable
i've tried to find back the original article that have some measurements in it, but didn't turn up the article that i've read.
it's the canare LV-61S and LV-77S 75 ohm coaxial cable. lots of good feedback on google on their performance when used as interconnect material.
and if i'm not wrong, it's available at jalan pasar at the shop on the end of the row with a large behringer sign and lots of PA equipment.
i'm personally using 20 meters of it as my sub interconnect to the back of the room. as they're coaxial with multiple core they're quite flexible like your normal interconnect. sold in meters and could be cut to length. most shop could even solder them down to your choice of termination. the PA shop at jalan pasar could probably do them as well as they're selling some boutique RCA jacks on their shelf.
