DeOxit pro gold...

I bought some some time ago, and it just sat there on the shelf waiting for me to find some time to start taking my system apart and clean.

Well, this evening i had some time and used the De Oxit and i cleaned the speaker cables both ends, cleaned all connections on the power amp and power amp power cord both ends. Then applied the Pro Gold layer. Let dry while i had a well earned cup of tea. For the power amp, i opened the case up and cleaned and applied on all fuse ends and on all fuse connectors as well.

Good God friends, the result is stunning. Now i know why this stuff is raved about on the web.... the changes are startling. More alive. More there. More depth, more soundstage. And Dylan's right here in the room with me telling e about a Duquesne Whistle blowing, from his Tempest cd. Wow. Wow and Wow.

I have been spending some money lately, trying out Ceraballs, trying out power cables. Trying out Rhodium plated terminals instead of brass. They all made a difference, but the biggest, mostest bang for the buck is the DeOxit clean up. And i still have the pre amp, cd player, dac and their individual power cables to do... wow. I never thought it would make THIS much difference. Well worth the rm50 something i gave up for this stuff in mega mall.

Ah, ha... Holiday spring cleaning..... I also went over to MV and think I gotten the last set off the shelf. Not sure when they will re-stock it.

Now my 2nd set also think left only 25% due to holiday spring cleaning.... My old bottle also finished as need to use more of the cleaner compared to the Gold enhancer.

Took apart everything.... applied cleaner... left over-night... morning wake up then wipe clean all treated area... then put on the enhancer.... then went for breakfast and lunch. Come home and start to assemble back the whole system..... Back to the squeaky clean feel that everyone like.... smooth......

Must admit as i m a user of Deoxit D5, it just flushed the dirt away but aft some rub effect will be prominent.

Faderlube was also another excellent product tat i used on those carbon based pots/knobs on vintage amps

where can i get it in KL area ?

dont miss out the DeOxide Spray is a product craig of laboratory,very useful to clean switches contact,potentiometers and all metal contact surfaces.
it clean and lube against oxidation.

     Finally, I found time and  a bit of extra cash on cheap cheap tweak. I got my bottle of Deoxit. Was disappointed that I couldnt get the type u guys rave about here.
But I soon found out the one that I got was more potent! 100% active ingredient, of course it is a trade secret, Deoxit never did review what is it. The G5 can spray series run with 5% active ingredient, the rest are just solvent and cleaning agent.

I Deoxit all the contacts I can find.. include those internal circuit connectors in equipment. Until I couldnt fire up my system again . Well not the deoxit fault anyway, I did loosen some solders. Got it fix. The over all result? Things become smooth and a bit of those splashy high is now silky smooth now.

I got my at Element14, RM76++.. Very fair price once u check the exchange rate those selling in Homeland~.

I have this Deoxit ProGold- pump version many years ago from Tong Lee. I did not use it after having bad experienced. My first application on MK plug, the brass pin and internal becomes  black after few months later. OMG! Luckily not done on my amplifier rca input.

Later found out that this ProGold version is to be use  only on  plating material surface, gold or silver contact.

Why not suitable for copper and brass? 

Is just not the same formula as multi purpose uses like D5.

Which DeoxIT product do I Need:

1. Use DeoxIT D-Series contact cleaner on surfaces that have been in service or have visual signs of oxidation. Contains 20% active cleaner.

2. Use DeoxIT Gold G-Series conditioner on new surfaces, and gold plated surfaces. Ideal for preventing dendrite/fretting corrosion. Protects both surface and base metals. Ideal for critical applications. Contains >1% active cleaner.

3. Use DeoxIT Shield S-Series to protect surfaces from severe environments (humidity, salts, pollutants, sulfur, etc.). Use on clean surface. Contains 0% active cleaner.

     Fright not, it does explain before in 1 of their pdf, the green/black color is dissolved oxidation, because the G series does have a bit of active cleaning in place. Just clean the surface again with D and apply G series again.

Talking about silver, this one tarnish like no body business, but again, tarnished silver doesnt have much affect on resistivity.

Thanks a million for the guide. I should have known to get the D5 spray long ago to clean up the surface. And re-apply. That was in 1995 then. Less info, how to used at that time.

Another one, am very skeptical with your Deoxit Gold cleaning on tin solder. Will that tarnish the soldering?   Unless, always free to cleans up the oxidation.

hmm.. I never done it on tin solder.. anyway, if it is solder, it is not require cleaning because the join is sealed inside the solder. I did tried on nickel surface.. dont know what will happen

I look forward for black oxidation on my brass power plug pin, shall report back later if there is any

Thanks Adrian4454 for the lead on getting the Caig Pro-Gold. For me I am cleaning with Blue Horizon Clean-It and then finish it with Pro-Gold. Went back sounding like brand new and maybe better than brand new.
