Online Inductor Calculator
Hi all,
I am contemplating DIYing my own air-core inductor. Searched the web and found a few sites but really don't know which calculator gives the correct results.
The results from different sites seem to vary, some having very significant differences in their results compared to others.
I don't need very sophisticated calculators. A simple but reliable one will do. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Re: Online Inductor Calculator
i find that online inductance calculator aren't really precise. the most precise online calculator for iron toroid that i've used are off by 2%.
best to invest in an LCR meter. a few percent off from the inductor and another few percent from the capacitor and there's gonna be a void in the frequency response. they're perfectly fine for output filters tho, as some inductor don't need an exactly value.
if you're thinking of buying an LCR meter, get the 3 1/2 LCR meter from Pro's Kit. less than RM200 and it's spec-ed to be precise to 1% for low inductance and less than 3% (or issit 5% can't remember) for higher inductance.
better precision compared to other models in the same price range. and it also could measure capacitance with better precision than most multimeters.

Re: Online Inductor Calculator
can't help you much there. i've never made an air core inductor before.sph wrote:http://www.colomar.com/Shavano/inductor_info.html
