Lamm LL2 Deluxe preamp {SOLD}

For sale in Kuala lumpur for {SOLD} only a Lamm LL2 deluxe preamp in 9/10 condition, complete with manual and crate, was originally 120v but has been reset to 230v according to Lamm's directions by a respected local tech. The only change that needed to br made was to swap the fuse - no modification whatsoever was made to the preamp.

Fully tube, class A preamp - this is a preamp that is very rarely for sale in Malaysia. It was a Stereophile class A recommended component (the current ll2.1 version is identical & differs only in having convenient AC outlets, differently shaped control knobs and lower gain) and it has been universally praised in TAS, stereophile and positive feedback as being a world class analogue preamp:-

Please note that the ll2 deluxe does not come with remote because lamm refuses to supply one. As said by stereophile reviewer:-

"The same point of view applies to the convenience features found in most other such products. "I lose a lot of business," Lamm says, "because people ask me for a preamp with remote control, and I say, 'No. No. No!' My company exists to make the best sound humanly possible, and anything other than that..."

He didn't finish his sentence. He didn't have to."

I should also say that the build quality of this preamp is better than any hifi component i have ever seen. The inside is clean and the quality of the components used and the circuit boars are deeply impressive. Even the metal switches snap open and shut with the kind of solidity that I do not feel in most other components...

No modification was made to this preamp to enable it to work in Malaysian voltage. The only change done was to swap out the fuse according to Lamm's instruction - the power supply is already designed to work with our voltage.

Model LL2 is the first in the line of LAMM vacuum tube preamplifiers. Unique topology and application of the most advanced technological resources and processes bring the LL2 very close to the threshold of excellence in sound reproduction. A main distinction of the LL2 from any other comparable type of preamplifiers is its almost inaudible sonic signature. When connected to an appropriate type of power amplifiers, especially LAMM amplifiers, it assures the recreation of a three-dimensional soundstage without boundaries and limitations.


The LL2 features a topology that brings out the most natural sound performance in the audio path, as well as graceful and sophisticated design. It employs a pure class A operation from input to output; all stages are single-ended. The preamplifier's audibly neutral power supply features a full-wave vacuum rectifier. This rectifier, together with a choke-containing filter, allows to practically get rid of the hum and buzz and, in the end, to ensure the verity of dynamic range without coloration. Other features include 3 inputs; 1 tape loop; 2 sets of outputs; front panel muting switch; and protection circuitry coupled with automatic mute at turn on/off.


Each preamplifier is carefully hand-crafted with matched components of the highest quality, some of which include military graded low noise DALE metal film resistors; ALPS potentiometers; ELECTROCUBE and ROEDERSTEIN film capacitors; high frequency switching grade CORNELL DUBILIER electrolytic capacitors; and specially selected long life vacuum tubes. The LL2 features a custom-designed power transformer.

 

The LL2 is available in two versions: standard and deluxe, both of which utilize identical chassis, PC-board and parts. In deluxe version, the power supply energy storage is approximately twice that of the standard version (four identical light-blue capacitors next the choke; only two of these are installed in regular version -- see first detail image insert). 
Also, in deluxe version, all film capacitors in critical paths are paralleled by polystyrene capacitors of the highest available quality..."

Holiday bump

Been waiting for someone else to let you know that it is bad form to bump your post everyday. I know you are probably eager to sell off the Lamm, but bumping everyday is considered inconsiderate, and perhaps even an act of desperation.

Better to bump weekly or so. Happy holidays, take care and be well.

Thanks for the neighbourly tip which is appreciated since I am a newcomer to selling stuff on this forum (I have frequently bought though). I will greatly ease off on the bumping then. (And in case my previous bumping is misunderstood, I would be happy to keep the Lamm if the price is not met as it is a fantastic preamp. I am only offering it for sale as I wanted to shift to a preamp of the same quality level that has true balanced inputs).

No leh.

It is only lower mid end ProAc with run of mill electronics.

From the picyure, the setting up of speaker is quite dissapointing.

But it is only my opinion.

It would be appropriate to keep the comments here directly or perhaps indirectly relating to the actual item for sale here.
