a quick look at prices on the net show that a decent pair of these highly acclaimed speakers go for up to 700 USD.
Good project with someone with DIY knowledge to repair these speakers. May be enough speaker for life.
Might be something I would do if I didn't already have speakers coming out of my ears!!! (ie I have too many pairs at home)
