The Look Forward circuitry Empty The Look Forward circuitry

Hi All, especially those who started hifi in the early '60s. Anyone had any experiences with this type of circuitry? Just a refresher: It 1st appeared in the Accuphase Amp in the late '60s and even the early '70s. Attracted lots of attention but the interest wasn't sustained long enough to be a permanent feature. 20 years passed that time, patents expired without much interest everything was forgotten. Until in the last 10 or more years ago, it starts to appear in different guises (different versions) in hi end amplifications. And now hifi enthusiasts have their attention on hi end amps.

Any idea anyone?

Dunno if we're referring to the same concept or not but here goes:

Krell has something called "Sustained Plateau Biasing" in which it uses its patented Anticipator(tm) circuitry to detect the input signal level and it will bias up the output so that the output can fully swing the class-A's maximum power envelope without any switchover distortion as the output stage gets fully prepped for the full swing before the audio signal reaches the output stages. Otherwise at low input signal levels, the Krell power amp will down-bias to reduce idle power wastage.

Gryphon has something similar called "Green Bias" as well, but it has to be used in conjunction with its own pre and power combos only.

Thanks Mugen,

You are right about the above.

There is also the Power Envelope of the NAD and the HiCaps of the Naims. btw Goldmund too is into the same game, but theirs sell at
rm150k per piece mono blocs!!!! For the cheapest of the models.

lost all respect for Goldmund when they started selling "rebadged" Pioneer DVD players. They took a stock Pioneer DVD player off the production line, fiddled with the power supply abit, re-badged them and sold the same damn thing for like 20x the Pioneer price.

Even the shitty ass plastic remote is a stock Pioneer grey remote with a Goldmund badge stuck over the "Pioneer" word.

Shame shame on Goldmund. Anyone who buys a present day Goldmund, shame on you too (or sympathies to you for your extreme gullibility).

Some say the Goldmund Universal player will show a big big Pioneer logo on the screen when you turn on the power.

And what does Goldmund say? Get a load of this:

"The Eidos 18 Multiformat turntable is based on Goldmund’s experience in designing the Eidos 38, the most accurate CD and DVD transport ever designed. Extending the same construction principles to a multiformat unit, able to play not only DVD and CDs but also SACD and DVD Video, the Eidos 18 also includes D/A to become the most versatile player in the industry. The Eidos 18D adds to these features the same progressive RGB Video and Digital Video Output circuitry as the Eidos 38D, the best Video player ever designed."

Shameful. Not all that glitters is Goldmund.
