INVITATION: Launching of the first audiophile LP in Malaysia

In Malaysia, commercial LPs had ceased production since the early 80s, when CD took over with the promise of “perfect sound forever”.  With the strong revival of the LP format, and capitalizing on this strong wave of opportunities, pop pop music is partnering Singapore’s S2S music to release the first ever Chinese LP in Malaysia for the past 30+ years. It is also the first audiophile LP in Malaysia. pop pop music could well revive and spearhead the LP production in Malaysia once again with this landmark release.


We chose “The Jazzy Sounds of Teresa Teng” by Winnie Ho because of the following reasons:
1) It has sold over 10,000 copies worldwide, so it is worthy of converting into LP format 
2  Musically, this is the most exciting and creative tribute to Chinese music icon,Teresa Teng
3) Proudly, it is an all-Malaysian production using 100% Malaysian talents.
4  Music Director Tay Cher Siang and singer Winnie Ho are all household names in the ChInese Jazz scene in Malaysia. To have an LP released under their name would greatly encourage fellow Malaysian musicians to make more creative music

The LP is mastered and pressed in Japan, one of the countries with the highest standards in LP pressing. It is pressed in virgin vinyl 180gram, which meets the stringent audiophile standards worldwide. The packaging is premium grade with Japanese illustrations indicating its origin. (see picture).

We are only allocated 100 copies for Malaysia region as others are for Taiwan, HK and Singapore. Albums are serialized. 

With this significant release, pop pop music hopes to revive the music industry in Malaysia by showing to others how to compete and survive in this ever-changing climate of music industry.
