For the first time, Pioneer's luxury Blu-ray player is now a fully universal player. This means that as well as the usual Blu-ray, DVD and CD discs, the BDPLX55 also plays SACDs and DVD-Audio discs. Combined with the ability to play a massive range of other formats, including MKV and DivX HD, the BDPLX55 has the ability to be the only disc player you'll ever need.

The advanced PQLS multi-surround technology and jitter reduction ensures a smooth and natural sound quality. Auto Lip Synchronous function means that the sound is also always in perfect harmony with the picture. Pioneer also use improved quality audio components, ensuring the best detail and dynamic response from the sound possible.

In addition to the first-rate audio performance, the BDP-LX55 also boasts class-leading video. A 36-bit Deep Colour circuit ensures a wider expanse of colours for a more subtle, true to life picture. What's more, the BDPLX55 comes with a wide range of video adjustments for precise optimisation with your TV and personal preferences. A great new feature with the BDP-LX55 is Stream Smoother Link. As the name suggests, Stream Smoother Link enhances the video quality of compressed, streamed video from sites such as YouTube.

FULLY LOADED

Use the standard LAN connection or optional wi-fi dongle and connect up to your home network hub. From here you can get access to the best of the web via applications such as YouTube. You can also stream content from your PC or media server via DLNA. What's more, all this is easy to control via Pioneer's unique Apple/Android control app, iControlAV2. In addition to this you'll also find twin HDMI sockets - handy if you're using twin screens or have an older, none 3D equipped AV receiver, and an additional, front-mounted USB socket.

Using Pioneer's reinforced, triple-layer chassis and damped mechanism, the BDP-LX55 is extremely well engineered.
