Re: SOS- Seek for player repaired
Hi, what is the model name of your streamer? If u r using Onkyo streamer I might be able to help.
In my Onkyo streamer, the digital section that handle all the streaming function is done by a ARM processor that has around 300 pins (BGA). In other words, if this ARM processor really give some trouble, u might need to change the whole DSP board as it is so difficult to repair this board.
Good luck.

Re: SOS- Seek for player repaired
From internet pictures, JF Digital HDM-03 seems to be a well made music streamer.
"My music stream player is cannot play from NAS/ HDD, but display shown the music list." - from your description, seems like communication between USB/LAN terminal and ARM processor do not break down. You can try to apply electronic contact cleaner at both your USB/LAN terminal and USB/LAN wire connector area to see whether any help. If still unable to play, possibility this ARM processor start giving problems. How many years you have been using this music streamer?
Coaxial and Optical in can function normal? Normally this two input do not go through ARM processor.

Sir,
Thanks again your prompt replied.
You can try to apply electronic contact cleaner at both your USB/LAN terminal and USB/LAN wire connector area to see whether any help.
- Is it the normal electronic cleaner to apply on it?
How many years you have been using this music streamer?
- More than 5 yrs
Coaxial and Optical in can function normal?
- Should be function, coz watch TV its output through AMP to speaker is working. Is my thoughts correct?
My Amp is send to service, will troubleshoots step by step accordingly.
Do you own a shop?

Any electronic/electrical contact cleaner that leave no residual will do. I got mine from Lazada, but after that I found Mr DIY also selling the same contact cleaner.

Ya, correct. Same as my guess, only the ARM processor starts giving trouble, the input signal selector and DAC section still working fine, so you still can make use of coaxial in and optical in.

Normally this ARM processor runs warm. If it runs hot and without extra heatsink, normally after few years of using will start give trouble.
Do you own a shop?
No, just sometimes helps my friends to fixed their audio gears when have spare time. DIY, modifying hifi equipments and sometimes gives some advise just my hobby, and my consumer audio electronics circuit design background do helps a lot in this matter.

Re: SOS- Seek for player repaired
Hi Gavin,
Since your player has balance audio out, I assume there will be total 3 pcs relays near audio output circuit (balance each channel 1 pcs, RCA out 1 pcs). Is it all 3 pcs same condition? Since your TV digital in still can produce sound, I will assume these relays still working fine. During play back TV sound, are these relays running hot? If not hot I suspect these relays might be already in this shape when you purchase new.
By the way, you can still change these relays if you want, but I don't think this will solve your HDD cannot play issue. Just be careful when you de-solder these relays from multi layer PCB.

Mr. Lim,
After replaced the relay, problem still remain. For your experience, ARM processor cant rescue, right?
Or you have a better idea?
Thanks

Re: SOS- Seek for player repaired
Hi Gavin,
Since your TV digital in can still produce sound, so original relay should be still function fine despite having melting mark at outer case.
From experience, ARM processor itself seldom give problem. But since ARM processor usually running hot, after long time using there might be some solder crack happened beneath the ARM processor. When this happened, some function may start to give problem, depends on the section that relate to the solder crack area.
If your streamer's problem is caused by solder crack and not caused by damaged IC, then it can still be rescue. Usually a re-solder/reballing process can rectify this problem. You can google BGA reballing video for how this can be done.
I do not have required tools to perform this BGA reballing, so unable to help you. But I think some handphone repair technician might be able to perform this task. This reballing task required skill and experience, sometimes too much heat during resolder can fried the IC or PCB instead... Good luck!
