There is no definite answer to your question. It can be an improvement, it can be not.

Theoritically, it should have improvement, but it vary from system to system.

Just give it a try and use your ear to judge.

Bi-wiring - Your Opinion Empty Re: Bi-wiring - Your Opinion

Give it a try...mine works...now its biwired and biamped (via an active subwoofer).

But consider the amount of money invested and the return you `may' get...honestly, i doubt it will make much difference in entry level systems. Take into consideration the capabilities of your amp...preferably power amp.

If all your components are entry level, that the whole exercise may be a waste of money. Lets face facts...Nothing beats good quality components.

Very Happy Entry level or otherwise if the speakers are biwireable then it should works.

Mine is only a RM 1500 pair and after I switch from the RM5/m Kadas to biwired Straightwire Rhapsody S tonal accuracy had been achieved.

my opinion;
biwire is always better.. but the question is how much? huge different or just a little bit... its depends on the speaker and speaker cable. better is better no matter how much isnt it??
another thing is.. is it worth or not?
my 602 S3 is biwired and i can hear the different.

Bi-wiring may not always be better. In certain cases, the doubling of capacitance may have a detrimental effect. Your mileage may vary.

Bi-wiring - Your Opinion Empty Re: Bi-wiring - Your Opinion

Post by Johan Fri Apr 10, 2009 7:38 pm

This is my own experience

Bi-wiring give improvement when the amplifier is not a high current type. By-wiring basically halves the impedance between amplifier and speaker. When the route impedance is halved its easier to drive the same speaker thus you will hear some sound that you didn't hear before. The bass beat will be more pronounced and the tweeter sound will be better. However, sometimes with certain amp or speaker the sound will become sharper and will introduce listening fatigue. The significant improvement is usually realised at a high cost of bi-wiring not with a budget cable. I think its better to save that money and buy a better amplifier or go for bi-amping.

Bi-wiring - Your Opinion Empty Re: Bi-wiring - Your Opinion

Post by WongKN Mon May 11, 2009 1:59 pm

Hi eveyone,

Bi-wiring is always an interesting, if contentous topic. Many people have obtained good results but there are also some who did not get any gains. Nevertheless, I always feel one should try it out to see the result. Perhaps you can get some cheapo type speaker cables and compare single to bi-wire and see if you can hear the difference. If you can hear the difference even with cheapo cables, then you can consider if it's worth spending the extra to bi-wire using your preferred cable.

Anyway, the main purpose of my post is to inform everyone that there have been an unfortunate attempt to tangent off this discussion. So I deleted those posts that does not belong here. Please do go ahead and continue to debate/discuss the topic at hand but it would be nice if we can stick to the topic. Apologies for the interference.
