Despite the diminutive size, the observer is assailed by the flash of steel, gold electro-plating and glass ... all very chic and rather unusual.

One box houses the power supply section--voltage selector, power switch, LED status indicator and IEC mains in/out are provided on this. The last is output, via a provided cable, to the amp itself, which has similar dimensions as the power unit, but with the tubes and twin transformers atop the chassis.

The tube array includes two 12AX7 driver valves at the preamp stage and four proprietary EL84s at the output stage. The Houston is rated at 18 watts per channel in ultralinear mode or 13 watts in push-pull mode, and will deliver into four-to-16ohm loads.
