Dealer For Audio Technica ATH-M50 Headphones

Is there a local dealer who carries the Audio Technica ATH-M50 headphone here locally? Anybody knows how much is the ATH-M50?

Any information would be appreciated.

I know Jaben Malaysia is selling them.

I have tested the ATH-M50. Pretty good actually but its a matter of preferences that I like the Sennheisers more..
Someone was selling a secondhand ATH-M50 awhile back for about RM500.

Have you tried other headphones apart from the ATH-M50? The ATH-M50 received many favorable comments on head-fi. Have you tried the Sennheiser HD-448?

Roughly how much is the price of the ATH-M50 and HD-448 brand new?

By the way, a brand new ATH-M50 was about US$100 last year and earlier this year. The price is bumped up recently to about $150 for unknown reasons. Do you know the reason of the price hike?

Mac City in 1U are selling AT headphones and they were having a sale over the weekend at the new wing foyer. Bought a headphone for less then RM100, where else the original selling price was RM140 to RM150.

They are carrying TDK headphones as well.

Got the ATH-T200, the entry level. Saw the upper crust of the AT series, nope did not see any senheisers range. Sorry.

Maybe, "sales" period pricing.

But a listening test between a Sony / AT - the AT is my choice in terms of quality and output. ( apple to apple comparison )

Just called and apparently sales was over on 19th. They only have three AT models and apparently the ATH-SQ5 is the highest model they have. The ATH-T200 is a good headphone and a good buy at below RM100.

The SQ-5 is under the portable series where else the ATH-T200 is under their audiophile category. They had headphone test stations with various range that a potential buyer can test. I tested the SQ-5, two units from the "active noise cancelling" range, a AD300 and AD900. The price varied from RM100 to RM1kplus. And I know there were a wider selection as the RM1kplus units were locked in a display cabinet.

They could have brought a wider selection for the sale but item in the shop per say may be limited to the three models. Could be better selling models compared to other range within the AT brand.

Suggest you ask them if they could bring the specific model that you intent to purchase or ask the Distributor which reseller has the model in stock.

Another option while you are overseas see if you could get one for a fair price.

THanks for the information. The SQ-5 received poor reviews on head-fi despite having a higher price tag than then ATH-T200. So I can say you have made a good choice going for the latter. I didn't know they have the AD300 and AD900. The AD700 is the one that got a lot of attention. May I ask how do you compare both AD300 and AD900 with the ATH-T200 that you've bought since you've listened to all of them? What is the price like for these models? The salesperson wasn't too interested to entertain me through the phone and asked me to refer to their website instead for the pricing, only to find out later that the AT headphones were not listed on their site.

If the AT models were not brought to the sales then I presume they are either not in stock or not subjected to discount prices. The M50 is the most popular model in the AT line and it was not featured in the sales.

For me, its the first impression that counts.

Primarily why i went with the AT 200 was pricing and I was satisfied with the output. Brought it home and plugged it into my AMP, it did not dissapoint me .

The only difference among these three models was the design, specification and price.In terms of sound quality the other models we slight airy / heavy on the bass and very focused on vocals.

For me, its was only a slight difference between the three. So why pay more , when i can enjoy the music with an entry level unit and was even sweeter when the price was less then RM100.00.

Never paid much attention on the price for the other two models but could be RM200 to RM300. I could be wrong.
