But I must admit other then the age&price it such an easy going & musical.. players
Any pround owner like to share some of your experience on this cd player.. or any other SF product.. please drop a few line.. thanks,..

Re: Sonic Frontiers anyone?
Hello Hijau, I had experience of the SFCD-1 when it was launched here in 96 I think, in a domestic setting (my home, then) and a professional studio. I have very good memories of it. And if memory serves: it had a wide bandwidth, good dynamic range - a 'high-end' sound, if you like. And it was built very well and never failed, even under heavy use. It was less demonstrative than some, ie it had no party tricks such as bass to the centre of the earth or highs like dope, but it had a very satisfying, well-balanced sound. It used the much celebrated (then) Ultra Analog dac, and SF was known for its use of premium parts without the sticker shock, relatively speaking.
At the right price, I think you could be happy with it for quite a while, never mind the lack of a digital output. I've also heard the SFD 1 and SFD2 dacs - I'd have those too. Just for the record, I'm not trying to sell any nor do I have them - couldnt afford it then. Just one caveat: since SF no longer exists, be sure who you're buying it from can service it, with the same parts.
