Maverick Audio TubeMagic D1 DAC / Headphone amp / Preamp (SOLD) Empty Maverick Audio TubeMagic D1 DAC / Headphone amp / Preamp (SOLD)

Up for grabs is a mint Maverick Audio TubeMagic D1 DAC/Headphone amplifier. This is the newer low gain version where the volume control is more linear compared to that of earlier versions. Low impedance can owners (myself alike) will find this very useful. All of the input and output channels work perfectly so you can use it as a DAC, tube pre-amp or a headphone amp. Endless versatility. It comes with the original box, user’s manual and stock accessories (inclusive of the stock tube and 2x LF353N opamps that originally came with the D1).

Now here is where things start to get exciting…

The lucky owner will inherit the following opamps:
1. 2 x LM4562NA
2. 1 x LME49720HA metal can - currently running in DAC section
3. 2 x LT1364
4. 1 x Burr Brown OPA2107AP
5. 2 x Burr Brown OPA627AU (mounted on a Browndog adaptor) – currently running in headphone amp section

In addition, the following tubes will also be included in the package:
1. 1 x Raytheon 5670 – currently running in DAC section
2. 1 x Western Electric 396A

Each of these opamps / tubes possess their own sound signature. Roll them to suit your listening tastes / preferences. I kid you not, these extras cost me a hefty sum (go ahead and Google up the prices) but for what it’s worth, they do bring out the best in the D1. Plus, I ditched the crappy, hairline-thin stock fuse for a Bussmann so if you have or plan to use a good power cord, the D1 can now take full advantage of it.

The only other mod I have done to the D1 is I have the knobs and buttons on the front panel in white. It adds character don’t you think? Very Happy
