I listen to music nightly, very much addicted to tonal colour which is just beguiling intangible which could not be seen, but it bites!!!
Feelings vary depending on music genre and mood at listening time. Most importantly, I must listen nightly!

Many thanks to STC for his warm hospitality yesterday evening. His ambiophonics is an eye opener and the work that he puts in (be it, his room acoustic or equipment setup) is testament to his strong interest & painstaking seriousness towards the hobby. Enjoy the music & look forward to future TT session with audiophiles of the central region. Warmest of regards.

We're (the mods, along with some industry guys) working out plans to organise a gathering cum sale (members can bring their equipment to sell, while dealers can bring goods for clearance) sometime shortly after Raya (end Aug/early Sept), most probably around PJ/Shah Alam. You guys keen to meet up then?

Hi guys i'm new here. Good to hear such gathering but shah alam is kinda far from kl
I'm currently into headphones but i wanna get into the home systems. I will be moving new house next year and will have a dedicated room for music and movie together. As i heard if i want it to be music priority rather than theater, i should go stereo instead of surround. I would like to hear some opinions of the sifu's here for these few models.
1. Harbeth super hl-5
2. Focal electra 1008 be
3. Neat Elite Sx
4. PCM OB1i
5. PCM PB1i
My preference of music varies from vocals, pop rocks, metals, r&b, electronics, house, epic and etc.
I believe most of the hifi kakis join in the this game from previous head gears ?
Cheers,
Ryan

I do have a short try out with head fi before plunging (actually poisoned into) hifi. I wouldn't want to give you my personal opinion of the above gears as i have limited experience with them and do believed there are a large numbers of qualified 'sifu' that would be more than willing to share their experience with you. Nevertheless, welcome to the club and enjoy ...

I guess i should stop the head fi journey for the time being already since i have made all the way to Fostex TH-900. If not ill need to spend lots of money in headphone amp.
Gonna take of focal electra 1008be cause someone told me they are great in vocal presentations and jazz but not in the lower frequency region and not able to provide my needs for pop and electronics.
PMC British sound but non British bass ? I found source for demo unit of OB1i signature for a decent deal but still the price is quite steep.

Hello John, welcome to H4S.
This thread was started by Victor Wong who is no longer with us. He was instrumental in getting many audiophiles together and his passing left a void in the local activity.
You may PM some of the contributors in this thread and join their Whatsapp group. I think many missed your post due to the Chinese New Year holidays.
Cheers!

Thanks for the welcome.
Happy new year to all.
I shall do that. If you have get together, let me know. My next visit is around Oct. One of my other love is Golf. I am hoping to catch the LPGA golf event in KL as the current world #1 is a kiwi girl.
