Beautiful cdp, can you source out the replacement lens KSS-272/274A?. Read in many thread that the lens is very hard to be found. friend had using this but now it packed in the store with faulty lens.

Unlike its own sibling[ X3000],this lens still widely available and cheap too.
Anybody know how to "transplant" the laser diode on a fault head instead of changing the laser module, would that be helpful?

Sony has made too many laser module and many other variants too..i believe they are using similar /same laser emitting diode.
a working Sony KSS151A lens is costly,but if you can just replaced the dead laser diode ,it would be far much cheaper to keep your rig spinning for another decade.
