Pioneer SX-1280 Vintage Stereo Receiver/Amplifier (Used) - WITHDRAWN
Hi all,
With a heavy heart I have to part with this rare piece of vintage equipment, one of Pioneer's top-of-the-line receiver cum amplifier. The unit was purchased from a careful expat collector in Singapore who changed all the caps and deoxit the switches.
Outputing a massive 185W into 8 Ohms, this 20+ kg Ampzilla is truly a one of its kind. As you may be aware, vintage equipment carry very high quality components and this explains the huge power reserves and most importantly, GOOD sound quality despite its almost 3 decade life span.
I was using this to power my orthodynamic headphone, the mighty Hifiman HE-6 (also put up for sale on another post), which sounds absolutely musical, robust, full-bodied and dynamic! And this was through the headphone jack (most modern amplifiers with a headphone jack won't do justice to even a highly sensitive headphone!). In fact, I have listened to music with this amp via the headphone jack with a couple of other headphones like the Grado RS1 and Sennheiser HD555. I can confidently say it drives all and any headphone plugged into its jack. Similarly for most speakers available in the market today. Those with hard to drive speakers can do no wrong in checking out this monster of an amp.
The amp also has a pre-amp out and power main-in for those who wish to use it as a standalone pre or power amp.
I have to give this up as with a toddler at home taking up most of my time, I can no longer enjoy a desktop set-up as much as I'd like and hence am selling off my gears to collect funds for a portable set-up instead.
Pictures are available on request. The power requirement has been set to 230V so it is plug and play. All VU meters and tuner in full working condition.
Condition : 7/10 (age, some bent cooling fins and some light scruffs on the wooden panel)
Price : WITHDRAWN
Interested, kindly call/SMS 012-2832903 or PM here.
Thanks for looking!

Re: Pioneer SX-1280 Vintage Stereo Receiver/Amplifier (Used) - WITHDRAWN
Hi,
I bought Pioneer SA9500MKII (Int + tuner) last few couples of month and they are pretty good even they were built in 1970's. But, recently I have problem with the integrated as it give "pop sound" eventhough after recapped and now it is not in use and still don't have time to send it for repair again. Interested in your SX1280, but wondering what is the best offer and still not sure whether it is worth to invest on it due to the previous expereince....
Thank you for your time.

Pop sound? Well, sometimes it is the other components failing or the connection breaking. Best to get a specialist to look at it. I'll pm u on the sx1280
