Anyone interesting DIY high end loudspeaker?
Hello all, anyone interesting on this topic? Currently I'm building the loudspeaker design by Tony from humble hifi. Now I'm planning to setup a small show room at JB, Setia tropika.

Interesting. The drivers cost USD3500. How are you gonna build the cabinet? And what cabinet materiel do you have in mind? What about the x-over?

Ya, I'm only interested in wood chassis as I only DIY my tube amps. Not going to buy retail, not worth it.

Re: Anyone interesting DIY high end loudspeaker?
Hi hotdog,
If thats your crossover assembly on some ply and P2P, I think it deserve a better build. Last year, I helped someone build a Xover, solder in components to the ori schematic, and owner was wise to acquire all the components from Octave. The main and vital component from Octave was a FRP multipurpose PCB which is a good size and very suitable for P2P wiring for similar xover like yours. Sorry, I ain't sure how much it cost, but I feel it'll make your assembly look more professional. Regards!

Re: Anyone interesting DIY high end loudspeaker?
Hi Hotdog
.
I saw the picture of the crossover and reminded me of my build of the Ob5 and V2 from GR Research ( listed in Audiocircle ). I hide the crossover in the cabinet and the untidy work is only known by me
I have no work work skills and very basic electronic knowledge. manage to complete it after about 6 months of waiting for the carpenter to finish the cabinet !
The sense of achievement is very satisfying and of course i love the speakers in sight and sound .
Hope you will post more pictures as you go along .
keep up the good work .
regards

My friend from Guangzhou order it online from Tao Bao and he brought them back to me.
The cabinet is made from bamboo, very solid.
They provide grille as well.
