beautiful sounding Mission DAC5 (digital to audio
convertor).

It is quite heavy,
made from metal and in gunmetal grey.

Can be used with CD player or cd transport, music
streamer or laptop/pc/mac.

I have used this with various cd players and
transports and have been using it recently in my
project studio hooked up to a macbook.

Great sounding unit - warm yet detailed, clear but
not harsh treble, very detailed midrange and well
defined bass.

Has phase switch which alters sound a little (find
it gives slighty increased bass and solidity)

Description :

The Mission DAC5 has a peculiar design of a black
long narrow box with a single digital input 75ohm
RCA and RCA outputs at the end of it. It adopts
true single bitstream technology with a very high
data rate. The PCB consists of high quality
chipset TDA1547 and SAA7350, SAA7323 as a digital
filter, two AD811 and NE5534 operational
amplifiers, and WIMA capacitors. It has a single
sampling rate of 44.1kHz and uses zero-feedback
twin tube anode output. The interface transformer
between DAC output and analog filtering takes up
the first stage analog filtering task.The Mission
DAC5 has a smooth and clean Bitstream sound that
works very well with computer audio or CD players.
The bass is powerful and brings out its intended
beats accurately.
