The Verdict
Do you need the Darbee Visual Presence DVP 5000 ? That depends on what you intend to use it for. If you’ve already got a perfectionist video setup and watch mostly Blu-ray discs, then buying one to enhance that experience—maybe to make things look more like 4K!

But to my surprise, I was able to even improve upon all that with the Darblet, making the final image stunning to say the least, and now 4K is not enough, and the Reality Creation over 8 million pixels by the 4K projector is not enough either, “I feel that I have to have” the Darblet add its magic on top of all that, it is becoming pleasantly addictive.

Those of us who think Darbee just sharpens the images OR by increasing the Sharpness parameter of our displays to achieve what Darbee does...
WE ARE ALL WRONG... for Darbee does NOTHING to sharpness AT ALL!

Dear All,
Belows are "Before & After" of the Darbee DVP-5000.
IF we think those are sharpness difference... NO NO, nothing related to sharpness here.
Increasing sharpness parameter of our projector/monitor/TV will NEVER achieve this result either.. then what?



There is no SHARPNESS related at all.. and all the details are caught out with Darbee instead...



There is NO sharpening effect done here with Darbee Darblet at all...




(Note that Darbee is set to maximum for exaggerated effect for the comparison, as picture hosting compresses the photos)

By adjusting SHARPNESS parameter in Optoma HD33 projector, a maximum setting of 15 creates a lot ringing artifacts at the edges of the lines.

That means if Darbee does sharpen the images, it does create the same ringing artifacts too... lets proceed to the below pictures....

Does Darbee create the same "Incorrect" ringing effect if one thinks it deals with sharpening the images????




Now.. It looks exactly THE SAME with Darbee set at 0 and maximum 120!
Darbee DOES NOT SHARPEN the images/video AT ALL!!
But instead, catching/restoring/revealing out all the details in image/video with its powerful well-programmed algorithm!! as referring to the previous post..

P/S: Color does look the same too in fact, it's the compact camera focusing at different point making the color tone differs in the pictures.

I bought the Darblet DVP-5000 from actsessory yesterday. Mr Chong is a nice chap and very helpful in explaining the details of how the gadget works.


I was quite skeptical about the Darbee at first, thinking I could tweak my bluray player/TV contrast and sharpness to achieve what it can do. Needless to say, I failed. The Darbee simply adds more realism and depth to the image (as what the ads said). In short, highly recommended.

Indeed Chong is a very nice person to talk to. I myself bought a unit from him today.

Due to his good after sales service, may buy another product from him soon.
