Connecting a pair of of speaker cable from single amplifier terminal
I went to hifi shops in Aldephi last weekend. Some of the shops run a pair of identical speaker cables from a single amplifier terminal to biwire the speaker (meaning 1 +ve terminal from the amp to HF +ve and LF +ve terminal at the speaker end using 2 single wire). Just what to know whether is it safe to do so? How will the impedance change? Can it be safely done with tube amp?

lamkochai,
it's perfectly safe to do that.
not many amps have two sets of speaker terminals. if yours has only one set, you can attach two speaker cables to one terminal.
to make it easier, one cable can have a spade and other a banana plug. or you can use an adapter.
there will be no change in impedance cos you're running in parallel.
there will also be no damage to speakers or amp. i have been biwiring this way for years using an adapter.

Yes, that is the only way to do it. Using two pairs of Speakers Cable - one pair to the HF Drivers and one Pair to the LF Drivers all the way from the only set of
Speaker Terminal at the back of the Amp. Some Speaker Manual like the Wharfedale Diamond series Manual actually have Diagram of the connection inside their Manual on ; How to Biwire.

Must be-careful not to reverse any of the speaker end connections otherwise it would be exactly short circuiting the amp's output.
