TOO MUCH GEAR!
Told myself by 2010 I'd give up collecting gear and just stick to one good system set up that's it. There's other financial commitment, business and personal to concentrate on. And I must stop this collecting habit! So here's a run down of stuff I'm letting go, I've no taken pics of them yet so cannot upload on wts. These are the prices first:
Speakers: Harbeth Compact Mk 1 RM 2900
Proac Tablette II RM 1600
Rogers Studio 3 RM 800
Turntables: Systemdeck 2x900 / Rega RB300 RM 1700
Project Perspective no arm RM 2000
Rega Planar 3 / RB200 RM 500
Amps: Counterpoint Solid 1 pre/power Reserved
Cheers

Re: TOO MUCH GEAR!
I used to have a Systemdek IIx years ago and sold it after the platter started to sway ...even with the swaying it sounded pretty darn good.. I had an Akito arm on it with a K5 cartridge, partnered with an old AR-03 amp and Goodmans Maxim speakers.. Even after years of them being all long gone, my heart still breaks when I think about em..sigh..memories, memories!

Re: TOO MUCH GEAR!
They're good, these are the Alan Shaws' first version of Compacts and so much sought after esp in the Japanese s/h market. But I've already a pair of Spendor SP1/2 and has a similar 'BBC heritage/family' sound. Besides I did say I just wanna keep to One System for once. Well there's a bit of marketing haha.Mahler 9 wrote:compact is good. Keep it.

Re: TOO MUCH GEAR!
abeye,,
Still haven't got time to take pics of the Rogers, they're in my office. Will do soon.
Think the cabinets are either walnut or teak I ain't to sure. Think they're mk 2 (and bi-wireable with Mitchel terminals) as I've seen mark 1 having velcro grill fasteners, whereas mine have proper studs. And unlike latter Studio 3s which sport bevelled cabinets, these ones have the same plain cabinets as the Rogers LS3/5As.

Why? Anything wrong here? I don't quite catch you guys. Are you saying rm1.2k is overpriced or is the Pipit 2 a poor phonostage?

Hey.. not so sure if you are the buyer of that unit but if you are, just enjoy it.
Dont care what we were trying to say. It has nothing to do with the sound quality.
I just feel lucky to own one of them.
