History of Lecson Audio
The Lecson Audio company was founded in 1972 and opened a factory in
Burrell Road, St. Ives near the university town of Cambridge, England.
The original team included designer Allen Boothroyd; engineer Bob
Stuart (both now at Meridian) and speaker designer John Greenbank who
later founded Tangent Acoustics.

RARE unit : LECSON QUATTRA PLUS Stereo Amplifier

Description :
The Lecson Quattra Plus integrated amplifier is an upgraded version of the Lecson amplifier. It is hooked up with an external separate power supply with higher power and drive to achieve greater audio control and transparency. It retains most of the appearance from Lecson Quattra, having a classy black casing. It is designed in an unconventional way where there are 2 sets of amplifiers in the unit, and equipped with a switchable on board MC/MM phono stage and biwire output. It is recommended for it to be configured for bi-amping to bring out its fullest potential.
The Lecson Quattra Plus has two preamplifiers and two power amplifiers, allowing a perfect biamping stereo setup. The presence of a switch mono/stereo allows the user to optimize monophonic listening to old recordings on vinyl. The Lecson Quattra Plus produces an analytical and rounded sound with good dynamics. The sound details are superb and smooth. The dynamics and transparency can be tweaked in favor of one of them but at the expense of the other. The "bi-wired" mode balances both of the sonic qualities. The Lecson Quattra Plus is a worthy upgrade for hi-fi enthusiasts aiming towards an outstanding musical set.
