Unit in good working condition, still in use, selling off as wanted to upgrade to valve amp.
This QUAD405 is a class-A amp Mode, thus the sounding is very clean and clear and the bass is solid and very well controlled.
Operate in “current dumping”, low-distortion class-A amplifier mode to control the amount of current passing through a pair of heavy-duty “dumping” transistors which provide the driving power (100Wpc) for the speakers.”
Very suitable for power hungry loud speaker such as ATC , Harpeth and others. That is why it is often used in BBC as monitor amp.
