Electric AC power from our wall sockets can be littered with noise and interference, as it goes through various stages of conversion and transforming before reaching us, traveling through long distance across the power lines. There is no problem for all these when they are powering normal appliances.

However, if the output of these appliances are in the same forms of waves and currents as the electricity like our audio equipment do, there will be undesirable effects on the sounds. These noises and interferences will either mask away some frequencies of the sounds, by cancelling each other out at specific frequencies, or adding unwanted hums/noises by layering frequencies on top of some. This is what that is preventing music from being ‘transparent’, seemingly sounds as though the quiet part of the what the music should sound is still not silenced.
