NAD 3240PE

It was good when it came out and still is.
Everyone accepts that the NAD 3020 was a superb amp but the 3240 was it's bigger brother. Twice the power, 40W rather than 20W, but with the Power Envelope technology meaning it can handle with ease peaks at up to over twice this amount.
I must admit that it sounds absolutely fabulous. Tone controls flat and no loudness needed it gives perfect sound quality from CD (another NAD unit), DAB radio and phono. I needed an amp with a phono input and most of the modern ones don't have this while some of the older ones from other manufacturers (Denon and Arcam to mention just two) had phono as an option.
I thought that a mere 20W from a 3020 wouldn't be enough for my room but I now find that I've never gone beyond half volume anyway on the 3240 so maybe it would have been.
Specifications:
Power output: 40 watts per channel into 8 (stereo)
Frequency response: 20Hz to 20kHz
Total harmonic distortion: 0.03%
Damping factor: 50
Input sensitivity: 3.5mV (MM), 160mV (line)
Signal to noise ratio: 76dB (MM), 102dB (line)
Dimensions: 420 x 108 x 380mm
Weight: 6.7kg
Can Use As Pre-Amplifier
