The Dynaudio Contour S 3.4 delivers a natural, life-like sound due to its incredible balance. The Contour Cabinet is strengthened by cross braces in specific areas to achieve a solid, vibration-free construction. Internally, the MDF walls are damped with an extremely dense material that absorbs even the most microscopic resonance. In conjunction with the advanced metal baffle construction, an extremely stiff and rigid unit is created, further ennobled by the finely polished surface of a beautifully finished real wood veneer. The innovative base plinth, derived from the Dynaudio Confidence range, serves as a stylish yet solid stand for the speakers. Integrated spike assemblies, adjustable from the top, allow precise levelling of the speakers on any floor surface.
The crossover is mounted on a smaller block, between the plinth and the cabinet, away from unwanted vibrations and resonance, while using the shortest possible path-lengths to the gold plated WBT terminals. The sensitive components are thus isolated from any potential performance compromising factors. In the S 3.4, the new Esotec tweeter is used; it features a double magnet system that ensures extremely high power handling and precise control of movement of the dome. The sheen of the dome surface itself is a visible sign of important fine-tuning: The fabric is precisely coated, resulting in a smooth and clean frequency response even above 20kHz, and unlike other tweeter materials, free of any peaks or dips. Deeper frequencies are handled by two powerful MSP mid/bass drivers that combine a large cone surface area with the power and control of two drivers, thereby delivering a more precise and controlled reproduction of the signal.
An innovative cabinet design in concert with advanced Dynaudio driver technology serves as the foundation for the high-performance Contour line. The honest design of each Contour model is comprised of the finest materials and hand-crafted to the highest degree, leading to a level of sound quality that brings to life the essential nature of sound, pure and true. The refined sound quality of the Contour models is born from the sound engineering that went into their development. Aside from the aesthetic merits, there is a technical purpose to each and every detail implemented into the construction. The ultra-rigid, slim-line cabinet is further strengthened by a solid metal baffle, connected to the enclosure itself by a layer of resonance damping material. The advanced Dynaudio drivers are afforded a perfect environment, free of any resonance or coloration, in which to perform at their highest possible levels. In Dynaudio's tradition of Danish craftsmanship, each Contour model receives a furniture grade finish with a choice of maple, cherry, black ash or rosewood veneer standard. Of course, Dynaudio can also produce custom finishes via special order (additional charges may apply; please consult your dealer).
