On Hold: pending sale of my Mingda SET amplifier.
My current favorite source component up for sale.
A lot of good reviews on the net. What Hifi compared this favorably to Cambridge 851N (Jap-o-box as good as a British player! Blimey!).
Heavy unit, built like an amplifier, two separate transformers for digital and analogue sections, separate compartments for DAC/Streamer/analogue circuits.
Single ended and balanced outputs.
Makes an excellent stand alone DAC with two USB, 1 Coax and 1 digital inputs.
Decodes high-res audio including DSD.
Unit is 3 years old, I am second owner, bought almost new. Functionally perfect. Low usage.Physically some scruff on top panel (caused by my BD player placed on top).
Comes with original manual and remote but no box (although the unit is simple plug and play using remote, you do need to read the manual to fully realize the potential of this unit)

First: What is NOT to like about this player.

[*]Pioneer Control app is functional and simple to use but a bit clunky (especially initial set-up).
[*]No wifi! Only LAN cable to connect to network (see accessories).
[*]No Bluetooth (see accessories).
[*]No native support for TIDAL. I use BubbleUPnP and mConnect for TIDAL. No MQA decoding.

[*]Excellent, detailed but smooth, no fatiguing, non-digital sounding player.
[*]Will beat most CD players except for ultra high end.
[*]User adjustable filter settings to tailor the sound to your room/taste/music.
[*]Choice of Direct (my preferred mode) or up-sampling at the press of a button.
[*]Built like a tank (rather unusual for a streamer)
[*]Nice, legible color display.
[*]TIDAL Masters and DSD sounds fantastic.

3. TP Link Wireless extender and LAN cable. Set it your Wifi and connect the LAN cable to the Pioneer to make it Wifi enabled.
4. 1TB external HDD with Rips of my CD/SACD (500+) and some down loaded/shared music. My music collection ranges from Western classical music to Malay rock and many genre in between (about 50% is Jazz and Blues) I have migrated my music to NAS and this HDD is no longer in use.
5. Nordost Flatline Silver Interconnects (1m) or DIY Balanced to single ended cable using high-end components (Vintage Polk Cobra Litz cable, genuine Neutrik XLR and MS Audio RCA, 0.6m)
6. Bluetooth receiver (4.0) with digital outputs (optical and Coax), Optical cable and power adapter.
