Skyline and Quadratic Diffusers
Every listening room should be acoustically treated well for its specific purpose.
Your hifi listening room is not a recording or monitoring studio, nor is it a concert venue. You have spent so much resources to hear the sound that your hifi is reproducing, so why would you want to clutter it with delayed reflection or uncontrolled absorbed sound from your listening environment. It creates smearing or just deaden your room, sound energy that you just lost!!!
A properly placed diffusers with some amount of judicially complemented absorption is what you need. The diffusers has to be tuned specifically to the critical frequencies. You control your environment not the other way round.
Get this right, as i have seen far too many on the market that clearly show the makers have no idea what a diffuser is, what it should be, what material it should be made of. A bunch of copy cats because it looks simple to make. Many are just plain wrong.
Happy to share the physics of diffusers and acoustics and explain why many on the market are simply wrong wrong wrong. If the single base diffuser is wrong, multiplying that for more diffusers will just multiply the wrong, wrong, wrong. Stay away from them. Save your dough!!!
You do not need many but strategically placed and still make your room nice and decorative.
What you will get is improved stereo imaging, perception of bigger listening room, clarity of midrange without smearing and even tonal qualities. Room reverberation and delays are eliminated at our most critical hearing sensitivities.
Offering for sale. These are personally made to exact computation and specification!!!
They are priced just to cover material cost.
a) Skyline diffuser based on BBC engineers computation. The folks that designed the LS3/5a speakers, technically brilliant and with good listening skills. No need to explain further of their legendary achievement!!!
Frame size is 60cm x 60cm
Diffuser size is 36cm x 36cm x 12cm
RM300
b) Quadratic diffuser
Frame size is 60cm x 60cm
Diffuser size is 40cm x 46cm x 12cm
