Zeta Tonearm by GB Tools
Black Zeta with Cardas internal wires and clips. The Zeta comes with additional weights. No tonearm cable included.
Bearings are tight and smooth and the arm is in fine cosmetic and working conditions.
On the Pink Triangle Anniversary, the Zeta made music with a verity of carts. I particularly like it with a Zu Denon due to its 16g effective mass.
Highly regarded as one of the best Brit’s super arms of the ‘80s, The Zeta is kind of cult tonearm and does compete with new tonearm that cost 3 times my asking price.
Extract from HIFI World:
“If ever there was a battleship tonearm, the Zeta is it. Launched in 1982 at £399, build was heroic, with a huge arm pillar housing top class bearings, large diameter arm tube cut from 20-gauge alloy and a solid, one piece HE30 alloy head shell with a milled flat underside. The direct coupled counterweight comprises an alloy housing with mild steel weights inside.
On audition the Zeta is a gem. It’s a great all rounder with a very strong, even and taut bass, superb mid-band performance and clean, extended treble. Dynamics are superb, with a tremendous feeling of power and grip. Also top class is the Zeta’s resolution, letting the listener focus on one single strand in the mix and follow it effortlessly right through the song.
This, plus its superb dynamics and commensurate rhythmic ability, mean it’s always a compelling listen.”
