A fantastic vintage Japanese high-fidelity integrated amplifier!
The Sansui AU-607, released in Japan in 1976 during the “Golden Era” of high-fidelity Japanese audio equipment, is a vintage integrated amplifier of exceptional quality. The AU-607 offers a rated output of 65W+65W (8 Ohms), with total harmonic distortion (THD) of < 0.03%. One of the innovations of this amp is the signal chain before negative feedback (NFB) is applied. In the AU-607, phase characteristics are enhanced by an appropriate stagger ratio, while transient cross modulation distortion is reduced by applying only the minimum required NFB. By these features, phase and transient characteristics across a large bandwidth are exceptional. Furthermore, in the power amp stage, this amp employs FET circuitry with a 4x current (relative to a typical FET), allowing improvement of slew rate and transient cross modulation distortion at the point where the input and NFB signals are merged. With these features and even more innovations, the AU-607 remains a superb amplifier. Everything about this amp spells quality, with its precise, thoughtful construction and modern appearance. These fantastic vintage Sansui amps are a bit rare, so don’t miss this one in very good condition!
