The DAC-1 is a 32-bit multi-input DAC that sets new standards in its price range. It is built around the state of the art ESS 9018 Sabre DAC chip. This chip is an 8 channel DAC that is run dual mono double dual differential to output two balanced channels of audio with almost non existent jitter. It is considered by many to be the finest DAC chip made, at any price. It uses 500kHz oversampling.

The output stage uses a 35 amp bridged rectified power supply and has 88,000uf of filter caps. This is more than many amps. It is a fully balanced design with balanced and single ended outputs. It uses an over sized toroidal transformer and has 2 coaxial, 2 optical and a USB input.

The new DAC-1 is easily the best under RM5k DAC that we have ever heard. It is the baby brother of the DAC2 that just received a superb review by 6 moons.
