- possible place/where to source/buy the speaker cable for surround speaker usage to be concealed in the wall. To get from local or via internet (like BlueJeans or Futureshop or any suggestion)?
- any brand/model in specific (belden 1131a/5000UE, ) or as long as it meet a certain criteria will do? (i.e. 12 AWG good enough?)
- Total length required approx 60m (total from various surround points)
- also from where to source the speaker bracket for surround speaker (where options a available).

The Belden 1311A is good value and fits your application for surrounds. It's also UL rated for in wall installation I think.
There's a guy selling it on low yat forum. He buys a 1000ft reel and portions it out. About RM11-12 per meter I think.

If you want a shop, you can try places like (not in any particular order) HiWay Laser (there's one in Pandan Jaya and one in SS2), CMY (plenty of branches including one in new wing 1-U now manned by one of the forumers here), and JayaOne has at least one shop dedicated to AV (several shops there so worth a visit), and then AmCorp mall where there are really lots of shops.
Then of course the KLAV Show is just 3 weeks away and you can literally find anything you need there, plus (hopefully) lots of bargains.
I bought my rear speaker brackets from HiWay Laser in Pandan Jaya and my Karaoke speaker brackets from HiWay Laser in SS2 after I gotten to know Kenny well. For speaker cables I just bought a spool of Monster cable from Harvey Norman for rear and Karaoke but for main and center speakers, plus the interconnects, I either re-use my old cables like MIT MI-330 and Monster Interlink, or I bought from my regular haunt, again in SS2.

Best Regards,
1. Buying from Internet Direct like BLueJeans & etc... , there's the hassle of shipping and also Customs clearance. I think from the mid 2000s, MY Customs actually imposed an AP requirement for importation of cables esp if they come in bulk or in a reel. Not sure if this AP requirement is still in place or not. There are excellent providers of audio cables in town locally. Belden and Canare (from Japan) are easily found in Jln Pasar. There's a forummer here called Digitaltech who sources bargain Monster cables from stock clearances overseas and sells them quite cheaply locally (he used to be active here but has since focused more on Lowyat.net but u can get his contact if u search the older threads). So far all his stuff is 100% original. Belkin also makes Audio cables for concealed and HT applications. Your choices are locally in abundance.
2. Whatever brand you & your wallet feel most comfortable with.
3. Yeah, buy a couple of reels and have fun terminating them.
4. Speaker Bracket, there are some quite high quality ones sold at this shop that specialises in Home jobs. Audio-Perfectionist in Jaya-1, PJ. Look for Simon. U can google up the contact info easily. Otherwise, AMcorp mall has a few shops also selling wallbrackets for surround speakers. Then there's also Kenny from Hi-Way laser in SS2 & Cheras (again, easily googled) that also can provide these brackets. Rule of thumb, get a good solid mount that is also articulating. So you have freedom to point the speakers for optimum effect.
Disclaimer: No endorsement or recommendations here. Just sharing some info from my own exp in dealing with the local hifi/av shops.

Re: Advice needed for HT (cabling & surround)
Greetings,
Thanks to mpyw/jchong/WongKN/mugenfoo (& to those kind soul who pm me) for your valuable feedback, will pay visit to suggested physical location (Hi-Way Laser/CMY/AmCorp/JayaOne) and web trader thus survey for both speaker cable & speaker bracket prior pulling the trigger for my to be renovated house (just got DBKL approval letter).
On top of it, will definitely visit KLAV show as decision on the to be equipment shopping list with limited budget in order to replace current HTiB & 2 channel equipment.
Note : Can i use this thread to further ask on question for the power supply (since the house will be proceed with renovation) or it would be more appropriate by opening a new thread. Thanks in advance.
