I went to ACE and some local HW shop last week, the smaller nut they have is only 3 mm diameter.

Size would be M1.5 (with different lengths), but trouble is the bolt head (philips or slot head) and hex nut mostly happens to be a wee bit wider for some headshells that have a recessed groove. A possible alternative are allen bolts which may fit nicely. I usually mod these screws by shaving them down a bit with my own inguinity if needed.

Try Carrien Nut & Bolt shop on Jalan Gasing. Opposite the old EPF building just after University Hospital's junction to Federal Highway.

Another nut & bolt shop is at Sunway, same row as GT Auto Works garage. Jln PJS11/(something). (Can Google them up to get the exact location)

Remember to buy non-magnetic types . Go for either aluminium or stainless steel. Ask the shop people to verify. Last thing you wanna do is use ferrous or paramagnetic screws. Aside from giving bad sound, can also potentially damage the cartridge during installation.

Susah lah!..if its going to be found locally from some 3rd party vendors or commercial fasteners. Most original supplied ones are usually aluminum alloy specifically manufactured for cartridge mounting purpose.

Nevertheless I have used some of these steel ones and seemed ok, never really hurt the SQ badly.

Not susah if u know where to find. Those shops are a good start.

There is a reason why cart mfgs supply either plastic or alu screws for mounting.

Or perhaps even just asking nicely from your neighbourhood hifi shop that also does record players will do the trick nicely. They usually have some to spare.

Hi GC,
I think you can try it at the Amcop Mall during the week end. One of the uncle at the LG floor. I used to buy the tonearm cable from him. He seem to have many turntable parts.
