Item: Ortofon EQ-5 (red)
Commentary:
These are a beauty. I can't seem to capture their
beauty over the camera but all I can say is that they look far better
than in pictures. Their machined aluminum body speaks absolute class and
craftsmanship. As for the sound, breathtaking. Of all the IEMs I own,
only the Shure SE425 and the Vsonic GR07 can hang out on the same level
as the EQ-5. While the Shure SE425 offers a neutral, monitorlike
presentation with great detail and extension, and the GR07 offers a
touch more bass for a little less detail, the EQ-5s offer a beautifully
balanced signature, with great, sparkly but inoffensive treble, sweet
mids and hauntingly good (but not overpowering) bass. Overall
presentation is indeed 'glossy' sounding, very sweet. A testament to
their sonic goodness is that on some days I actually prefer to use them
over my HeirAudio 8.A. Reviewed very well all over the internet!!!
I'm
sad to part with them, but alas I've got no much use for these and I
need to raise some money due to excessive spending on the month of my
birthday (October)

Good condition, 8/10. The Ortofon print on the aluminum body is faded, but this happened within a month of use! and its very common! I've replaced a new set of nozzle filter just before putting these up for sale. Thin cables have stiffened up abit much like the older Shure models. But not a worry as they're worn cable down. If need be, a cable guide can be used when worn cable around ears. But that orientation sucks.
