Distorted Audio Signal Empty Distorted Audio Signal

Post by KingFC Sun Sep 20, 2015 2:09 am

My Arcam Alpha CD Player produces distorted audio signals but after about an hour it seems to be normal. According to a local electronic technician, the capacitors have leaked and require replacing for about RM350 total. Is this a typical problem worth repairing?

It's not difficult nor expensive to change a capacitor ... if you can locate the failed cap and have the DIY skill to solder.

Google "leaking capacitors" for images of leaking caps and see if you can find such caps inside the CD player.
You may not be able to locate it if it has not completely failed. Early physical sign are not easy to spot but if you know which caps are the ones giving the problem then it will be so much easier and cheaper too.
